What are cookies?
“Cookies” are small text files which contain information installed and preserved on the user’s navigation device while it navigates on a website. This information, if not removed by the user, along with further information generated during future visits to the same website, make it possible for the user to enjoy a much more efficient and gratifying “user experience” on the website.
Those who wish to navigate on our site in an optimal way obviously need to allow the cookies to be activated. Those who don’t wish to accept cookies will still be able to navigate on the site, but their activities will be limited to viewing only.
Cookies do not in any way damage a navigating device, and they do not conserve information concerning personal identification: all information is encrypted.
Without this type of cookie, the user’s movements within the website are extremely limited, and they will be unable to access reserved areas. This type of cookie does not gather information on users which could be used for marketing or profiling purposes.
They are used for:
- recording data (i.e. information which users use in filling out forms while navigating on different pages during the browser’s navigation session);
- identifying as users those who have logged in to personalcare.ima.it;

Cookies for performance analysis
This kind of cookie gathers information on website usage, for example which pages attract the most visitors… data which simply helps optimize the site’s performance and makes it easier to navigate.
These cookies do not gather information which could make it possible to personally identify the user, because all data is aggregated and therefore anonymous.
This kind of cookie makes it possible for the website to record and “remember” user choices (e.g. username, language, country of origin, etc.). The information gathered by these cookies is anonymous and cannot trace user activity on other websites.
Other uses of this type of cookie include:
- remembering the settings a given user has applied to the site, such as layout, font size, preferences, colors etc.;
- remembering user’s choices so that they will not be asked to fill out the same questionnaire more than once;
- remembering whether a certain service has already been offered to a given user, such as the offer of a tutorial on successive site visits;
- supplying information in order to permit the activation of optional services such as for example the offer of a live chat session;
- complying with a user’s request, such as the insertion of a comment.
Third Party Cookies for marketing/retargeting
These cookies are used by IMA partners in order to launch advertising when the user is navigating on other sites. The use of these cookies does not involve any treatment of personal data, but it may allow access to the computer or other devices belonging to the user to gather saved data: these cookies connect to the browser installed on the computer or on other devices used to navigate on our site, and this means that third parties may use information obtained from cookies saved on the user’s device while they were navigating on our website.
How can I disable cookies?
Most browsers are set to accept cookies automatically, but it is also possible to reset them so they will not accept cookies. We advise against disabling this function, because this could impede access to all the available services by preventing movement from one part of the site to another.
If you do not wish our computer to accept and memorize cookies, it is possible to modify the security settings on your browser (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari etc.). In any case, bear in mind that parts of the website may only be fully exploited if your browser accepts cookies.
The following are a series of brief instructions on how to modify default settings in the four most frequently used browsers:
